About Us

Since Greg first starting making soup for friends and family he has had a dream. Making homemade restaurant quality soup made from scratch using locally sourced ingredients. That's when Chef Greg's Soup LLC was born.

Chef Greg Gefroh has been involved with the food industry for over 40 years. His wife Lisa the driving force behind starting the company has been at his side every step of the way. Chef Greg has been cooking since he was 14 years old in various culinary venues across the great state of North Dakota.  Greg completed culinary training 2000.  The Gefroh’s spend a fair amount of their time entertaining friends and family during holidays and special occasions. After years of requests for Chef Greg's Soup, they have decided to pursue marketing the soups. They started making soup and selling it to friends, family and fanatics in the fall of 2016. They have perfected 6 soup recipes that are currently being sold. Although praised for the quality of many of the recipes served at various events, they have attained a special notoriety for their soups.

Lisa and Greg have developed several recipes for fresh soup. They include the following:

Chicken Noodle


 These soups have been used in the setting of several restaurants over the past 20 years and have been produced in large quantities. The estimated shelf life of the product is 7 days at refrigeration temperatures and up to six months when frozen. Nutrition label are available for all soups.

We are also in the development stage with 2 new soups as we try to keep up with current trends. Roasted Tomato Basil and Buffalo Chili con Carne are being tested with availability expected in the spring of 2022

The Gefroh’s market this product in a frozen 16 and 32-ounce deli container. Special attention has been given to developing an attractive label that will stress the gourmet/specialty nature of the products.

Distribution of is currently local to the Fargo/Moorhead area with plans to expand.
